7 Viral Cheese Recipes You Will Love
Tomatoes and feta
Social media can certainly be a time suck, but once in a while, the endless scrolling pays off. Some of the most creative, cheesy creations have been making the rounds and, hopefully, have landed in the ‘For Your Page’ on TikTok. From baked feta pasta that sparked a shortage in Finland to Mac and Cheese recipes requiring multiple blocks of cheese, here are seven of the most viral TikTok recipes to try now.
Cottage cheese wrap (Spinach edition)
Within days of Nicole Keshishian of @Kalejunkie sharing her cottage cheese flatbread recipe, it was all over Instagram and TikTok. She followed that up with what she calls her ‘spinach edition,’ a very similar recipe but with a bit more color. The flatbread is already full of flavor, so you can really put whatever you like inside. For extra protein, Keshishian suggests turkey, salami, tomatoes, garlic spread, and extra spinach.
Ingredients
8 oz full-fat cottage cheese
2 eggs
1 large handful of fresh spinach
3-4 tbsp grated parmesan cheese
2 cloves of garlic
1 tsp Italian seasoning
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 350 F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set it aside. Then, add all of the ingredients into a food processor or blender and process or blend until smooth. This should take approximately 45 seconds to 1 minute. Once the batter has formed, transfer it to the parchment-lined baking sheet and use a rubber spatula to spread it out into a thin layer. Transfer the tray to the oven and allow it to bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the top has set and browned. Peel off the paper and fill.
Butterkäse-stuffed sweet potato
Anyone who commutes to work knows how much thought goes into meal prep. Created by teacher and content creator Courtney Cook Bales, the Butterkäse-stuffed sweet potato dish quickly earned the nickname “teacher lunch,” because it’s so easy to reheat in the office kitchen. It’s basically a sweet potato, but the Butterkäse cheese adds a creamy texture that makes all the difference.
Ingredients
1 sweet potato
Butterkäse cheese, as much as you like, cut into thick long slices
Bake the sweet potato, let it cool slightly for several hours. Poke a hole at one end of the potato and slide in slices of cheese. Serve.
Mac and cheese
While Tineke (Tini) Younger of @tinekeyounger first shared her viral Mac and Cheese recipe ahead of Thanksgiving, you don’t need an excuse to enjoy this flavor-packed dish. Her recipe calls for 2.5 pounds of shredded cheese, so come prepared. Tini suggests shredding the cheese from blocks rather than buying pre-shredded cheese, which makes this recipe slightly more labor-intensive but ultimately worth it. If you have a food processor, add the grating attachment to save time.
Ingredients
1 lb Cavatappi (corkscrew) pasta
1 lb Colby Jack cheese
1 lb Mozzarella
½ lb Sharp cheddar
12 oz evaporated milk for homemade roux
2 cups heavy whipping cream
1 tsp each: salt, white pepper, garlic powder, smoked paprika
1 Tablespoon Dijon mustard
3 Tablespoons butter
3 Tablespoons flour
Instructions
Heat oven to 350 degrees. Boil the pasta in salted water for 8 minutes.
Shred all the cheese and divide into two portions. Melt the butter in a saucepan. Add half the spices and bloom in the butter. Whisk in the evaporated milk a bit at a time, then add the cream, and the rest of the spices, turn heat to low, add half the cheese. Butter a baking dish. Add half the pasta, half of the cheese and the rest of the pasta then top with the remaining cheese. Bake for 25-30 minutes, then broil for 2 minutes.
Baked feta pasta
This viral dish first surfaced a few years ago, but it’s still making the rounds in 2026. Finnish food blogger and artist, Jenni Häyrinen, is the original creator, but her 2019 recipe didn’t go viral until 2021. In fact, it became so popular that there were actual feta shortages across Finland. Whereas some pasta dishes can feel heavy and overly filling, people love the freshness of this recipe and the unique balance of sweet and tangy flavors.
Ingredients
2 pints of grape tomatoes
½ cup extra-virgin olive oil
Salt and black pepper
7 oz block of feta cheese, drained
10 oz dry pasta
1 red chili pepper, chopped
5 medium garlic cloves, peeled and halved
8 oz spinach, chopped
1/4 tsp crushed red pepper flakes, or more to taste
1/4 cup thinly sliced fresh basil
2 Tbsp minced fresh parsley
Instructions
Heat oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Pour olive into a baking dish. Place the whole feta block on top. Add chili on top of feta cheese. Pour more olive oil on top. Place the cherry tomatoes on the sides and roll around in oil.
Grind some pepper and season with a pinch of salt. Bake for 15 minutes in the middle rack. Raise heat to 450 degrees, or broil for 10 minutes.
Cook the pasta al dente according to cooking instructions. If you used cherry tomatoes with stems, remove them.
Break the feta a bit and mix with tomatoes. Mix the sauce with pasta and add plenty of basil leaves.
Cottage cheese ice cream and dessert bowls
If you’re trying to cut back on sugar but still crave something sweet, this one’s for you. While a few different recipes are floating around on TikTok, Lainie Kates (@lainiecooks) definitely contributed to the trend. Her peanut butter and chocolate chip flavor combination is probably her most popular, and it actually provides 60 grams of protein. It’s a clever alternative to traditional ice cream, and after a few scoops, you’ll hardly notice the difference.
Ingredients
1 container of whole milk cottage cheese
¼ cup sweetener of your choice (try date syrup)
1-2 tbsp natural peanut butter
½ cup chocolate chips
Instructions
Blend cottage cheese and sweetener. Mix in peanut butter and chocolate chips. Transfer to the freezer. Scoop and serve when firm.
Burrata bowls and creamy salads
Leave it to Marissa Mullen (@thatcheeseplate) to come up with the prettiest burrata bowl we’ve ever seen. It’s a fresh and creamy dish to welcome the warm weather or whenever you’re craving a flavorful snack. Presentation is key here, and with colorful ingredients like basil, prosciutto, and roasted red peppers, it really takes center stage on any dining table. Pairs well with a light sparkling wine or a Pinot Noir with notes of dark cherries.
Ingredients
Burrata
Pesto
Marinated artichoke hearts, drained and sliced
Pine nuts
Basil, sliced
Instructions
Split open the burrata and place in a bowl. Top with pesto, artichoke hearts, and garnish with pine nuts and basil, as desired.
Whipped cottage cheese everything
While whipped cottage cheese isn’t exactly anything new, creators like Janelle Rohner (@janellerohner), Maria Koutsogiannis (@ketorecipes), and even reality TV-star Bethenny Frankel (@bethennyfrankel) have contributed to its popularity. Rohner has a few different variations, including a sweet Caramel Fruit Dip, a 3-ingredient Cottage Cheese Queso, and a Cilantro Lime Cottage Cheese Dip—basically a dish for just about any occasion.
Ingredients
1 container of low-fat cottage cheese
Vanilla syrup of choice
Toppings such as caramel sauce
Fruit such as sliced apple and strawberries
Instructions
Blend the cottage cheese in the blender until smooth. Sweeten to taste then top with caramel sauce. Use as a dip for fruit.
